To those of you who have come by to see what’s new, I apologize. The last few weeks — starting with my boys spring break — and finishing with two trips to the east coast and a trip to Portland (for the International Association of Culinary Professionals, IACP, annual conference) — has been a whirlwind of travel comprised of packing, unpacking, and as usual squeezing in as much family time as I can in between.
For those of you who may have caught me on-air, my trips back east indeed included a couple of appearances on QVC. Thank-you to all of you who subsequently jumped on board this month and signed up for my newsletter. As my mother always said, ”the more, the merrier.”
While on the east coast I also taped a segment for ABC Good Morning America Health called Comfort Food, not calories. Driving in downtown Manhattan is its own whirlwind experience! ABC Health is taped on the Good Morning America set right in the heart of Times Square. Watching Robin Roberts and George Stephanopoulos step off the set so I could step on was quite a thrill. You can go here to check out the show:

My last stop was in Portland for the annual IACP conference. It’s where “foodies” such as food editors, cookbook publishers, chefs, cooking schools, and cookbook authors meet once a year to discuss what’s new in our world (and to eat!). As usual there weren’t many other healthy cookbooks featured this year, but I will say the need for healthier recipes is finally being recognized. For me the real education was in blogs and social media (like facebook and twitter). While I am happy that my new web site affords such opportunites, I clearly have a lot to learn!
Last, but not least, a major congratulations goes out to my photographer Steve Legato who was an IACP cookbook award finalist for his breathtaking food photography in the cookbook Nicholas. I am thrilled to have had him shoot the mouthwatering photographs in Eat What You Love. If you already own the book, I am sure you will agree.
Thanks for letting me catch up. I look forward to adding some rather interesting comparisons and brand new recipes this week!
Stay tuned
Best to you and yours,
